Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of Government – Comparative Politics

Position description

The Department of Government at Wesleyan University seeks applicants for a one-year visiting position in comparative politics during the 2024-2025 academic year beginning September 1, 2024. We welcome applications from comparativists specializing in any region of the world except Latin America. The teaching load is 3-2, including three sections of an introductory comparative politics course, a survey course, and a seminar on a topic of the visitor’s choice. The successful candidate might also be asked to supervise up to two senior theses.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment (September 1, 2024) to be hired as an Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as an Instructor if the candidate does not have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of application.
