Description:
The Department of Political Science, a subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, seeks to fill a position of a Visiting Professor for four months (October 1, 2024 – January 31, 2025). The position is vacant for the period of absence of a member of staff.
Your tasks:
You actively participate in teaching, research & administration, which means:
- You serve to cover a vacancy in the area of Comparative Politics with a focus on Eastern and Southeastern European studies.
- You hold courses at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- The teaching load is four courses (eight semester hours) per week.
Your Profile:
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in political science
- Several years teaching experience at university level
- Excellent educational and didactic skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English. Good command of German is an advantage
- University level teaching experience in the field of comparative politics or political economy with a focus on Eastern and Southeastern Europe
- Willingness and ability to advise BA and MA and doctoral students on their theses.
- Willingness to work in a team
- Excellent publication record in comparative politics or political economy with a focus on Eastern Europe is an advantage
- Habilitation or equivalent is desirable
