The Ashmolean Museum are welcoming applications for their new Visitor Experience Supervisor. As Visitor Experience Supervisor, you will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with exceptional communication skills who thrives in a busy team environment.
Managing the team of Visitor Experience Assistants on a day to day basis and leading on team initiatives, you will ensure the smooth operational running of the museum and be responsible for ensuring the VEA’s provide an exceptional service to all of our visitors. As one of three Visitor Experience Supervisors, you will manage the administration of payroll and respond to any related payroll queries, oversee and create the team’s monthly rota as well as carry out return to work interviews and assist with performance reviews. You will also support our security operation by ensuring that public areas are always efficiently staffed and that the team is well trained, motivated and managed.
Your role will require you to regularly act as the Duty Manager on a rotational basis covering week days, weekends, bank holidays and some evenings and late night events.
The department of Visitor Experience is part of the Audience and Content directorate. The Visitor Experience team is the largest team in the Ashmolean and we are proud to deliver a first class visitor experience. Welcoming visitors to the Museum, engaging them in the collections and inspiring them to make the most of their visit is core to our day and we strive to support the museums commercial activities by encouraging donations.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 36.5 hours per week. This role will involve manual handling.
