Volunteer & Communities Officer

tendersglobal.net

Surrey Wildlife Trust is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts
across the UK, a grassroots movement working to protect and connect at least 30 per
cent of land and sea for nature’s recovery by 2030.

‘Our vision for a wilder Surrey is a future with abundant wildlife and nature recovery networks
rich in biodiversity.’

Working with our Community Engagement Manager, we are looking for an enthusiastic person to
engage a wider audience, helping us to further build our strong, informed and reliable group of
volunteers to champion wildlife and the Trust’s work; we want to significantly extend our reach
to educate and influence individuals across Surrey to encourage them to realise the value of
nature.

To support this ambition, we will also be building our training provision for volunteers,
trainees and young people and developing career opportunities.

If you are a highly organised individual with excellent interpersonal skills, who can deliver
the Trust’s objectives via working with volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds,
educational needs, ages and abilities, utilising your passion to educate, enthuse and motivate
others, this is the role for you.

You must have some previous experience of successfully working with, organising and leading
volunteers and the ability to reach and inspire others in nature conservation. An out-going,
personable and friendly personality with the ability to work with a wide range of people is
essential coupled with a passion for the natural joy of nature.

The job will involve being outdoors for many days of the year, as well as regular admin office
based time, and a driving licence is essential as our locations cannot easily be accessed by
public transport.

The full job profile and application form is on our website www.surreywildlifetrust.org

We are committed to having an inclusive and diverse workplace and encourage applications from
backgrounds which may be underrepresented in our sector, including people from minority ethnic
backgrounds and people with disabilities.

We are committed to offering an interview to all candidates that meet the essential criteria
for the post and will consider both full and part time applications (a job share may be
feasible). Please let us know if you require any adjustment to make our recruitment process
more accessible; interviews will be in person.

Please apply using the Application Form on our website to Catherine Roberts, HR Director, [email protected] by midday
Monday 4th March 2024.
