Mission and objectives

The Frontier Tech Leaders Programme is a joint initiative of UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) SDG AI Lab and UN Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries and supported by the Government of Türkiye. The Frontier Tech Leaders Programme aims to raise a new generation of tech specialists to strengthen local capacities and develop digital solutions for the LDCs (Least Developed Countries) towards achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Furthermore, the initiative will inspire young people as well as promote gender equality, encouraging women to pursue tech education and careers.

Context

Frontier Tech Leaders Programme starts the second global Machine Learning Bootcamp cohort in March with 2 weeks long Python training. The volunteers are expected to complete their preparations before the training and deliver 3 live classes in English starting from March 11th.

Task description

The Python course volunteer is expected to 1. Conduct a minimum of 3 online sessions in English between March 11 and 23. 2. Cover “Python for Everybody” Course topics and ensure a comprehensive understanding among students. 3. Possess advanced knowledge of Python to effectively convey complex concepts. 4. Demonstrate practical skills through live coding sessions. 5. Develop and prepare assignments that reinforce the concepts covered in the sessions. 6. Provide a pre-recorded demo for each session. 7. Dedicate sufficient time for preparation, teaching, and interaction with students (Evening sessions during the weekdays and morning sessions on the weekend)

Requirements

Required experience

1. Minimum a senior year student, ideally a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or in a relevant field, with strong programming background. 2. Teaching experience. 3. A high level of proficiency in Python. 4. Strong coding skills.
