Mission and objectives

The Frontier Tech Leaders Programme is a joint initiative of UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) SDG AI Lab and UN Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries and supported by the Government of Türkiye. The Frontier Tech Leaders Programme aims to raise a new generation of tech specialists to strengthen local capacities and develop digital solutions for the LDCs (Least Developed Countries) towards achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Furthermore, the initiative will inspire young people as well as promote gender equality, encouraging women to pursue tech education and careers.

Context

Frontier Tech Leaders Programme starts the second global Machine Learning Bootcamp cohort in March. The volunteer is expected to deliver live lectures(online) on Git&Github, Docker and Deployment. They are expected to improve the existing material and answer the questions of the students during live sessions.

Task description

The Volunteer Software Tools Trainer is expected to 1. Conduct 3 live lectures(online) on Git&Github, Docker and Deployment in English between March 23 and May 31 2. Cover the existing material of SDG AI Lab during the live sessions and improve the material if needed it. 3. Possess advanced knowledge of Git&Github, Docker and Deployment to effectively convey complex concepts. 4. Demonstrate practical skills through live coding sessions. 5. Provide a pre-recorded demo before the sessions. 6. Dedicate sufficient time for preparation, teaching, and interaction with students (Evening sessions during the weekdays and morning sessions on the weekend)

Requirements

Required experience

1. Minimum a senior year student, ideally a bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or in a relevant field, with strong programming background. 2. Teaching experience. 3. A high level of proficiency in Git&Github, Docker and Deployment 4. Strong coding skills.
