  • Base salary from $83,384 plus 17% superannuation

 

 

Reporting to the Global Volunteers Manager, the Volunteers Officer supports the delivery of a global volunteer program for alumni and supporters of the University of Sydney. The Volunteers Officer provides support to the Global Volunteers team including a combination of volunteer campaign management, frontline stakeholder liaison, event coordination support and data administration.

 

The role will provide proactive and timely management of inbound client/stakeholder enquiries and outbound client/stakeholder contact. The Volunteers Officer will drive the delivery of effective volunteer engagement campaigns, including recruitment and recognition of volunteers, as well as undertaking day to day tasks associated with the provision of frontline stakeholder enquiry management and project administration. This includes assisting with documentation and tracking of projects, updating databases, sourcing information, corresponding with internal and external stakeholders, and producing reports.

  • has experience with the processes and governance involved with volunteer committees
  • is well organised to be able to provide project support and database management and reporting
  • is highly creative and can generate ideas and think outside the box. We’re always looking at ways to creatively engage our most valued supporters
  • is a team player who can work with the wider alumni and supporter experience team
  • has exceptional organisational and time-management skills, including the capacity to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and to meet deadlines. Ideally you have experience working with digital campaigns and volunteers and committees, this is advantageous but not essential.

 

About us

This role and sits within the Global Campaigns and Volunteers team. This team is responsible for driving mass connections with alumni and supporters through domestic and international campaigns, and best-practice volunteering models. The scope of the team includes planning and sending communications to alumni, providing data lists to internal stakeholders and identifying and recruiting volunteers for different types of opportunities.. This includes partnering with other parts of the University, such as the student life and international student recruitment teams to help refer alumni volunteers and expand the range of volunteering opportunities. In addition, the team also help run advocacy style campaigns and encourage.

This team also works with alumni networks across the world to help them connect with peers locally and stay in touch with the University.

The wider team is the Alumni and Supporter Experience team which engages with alumni and the broader community through a range of communications, events, community giving and engagement programs. The University of Sydney has a community of over 420,000 alumni with alumni associations and networks around the globe.
