Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our growing team.This critical role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our cold chain operations, ensuring seamless transportation, storage, and distribution of perishable goods. You will lead a dedicated team, driving excellence in compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our high standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:
- Cold Chain Excellence: Oversee all aspects of the cold chain process, guaranteeing product integrity and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop Shift Managers, Supervisors, and the Operations Transport and Planning Co-ordinator, fostering a strong team culture.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory using WMS and oversee cycle counting.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Lead audits and manage incident reporting.
- Process Improvement: Drive efficiency and cost reduction through process optimisation.
- Supplier Management: Manage relationships and contracts with third-party suppliers.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track KPIs, generate reports, and address operational issues. Manage the Davis Derby system.
- HR & Resourcing: Manage colleagues, implement performance processes, and ensure adequate resourcing.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets, identifying cost savings.
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure timely deliveries and maintain product integrity.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate to plan workload and resource allocation.
Skills & Experience:
- At least 3 years of proven experience as an Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, or similar role within a cold storage or temperature-controlled logistics environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams in a fast-paced setting.
- In-depth knowledge of cold chain logistics, food safety standards, and HACCP compliance.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
- Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
