DRC has been operating in Somalia since 1998 using the protection of human rights framework. Somalia is experiencing a devastating humanitarian crisis, with nearly 80% of the population in need of some form of humanitarian assistance. DRC in Somalia is scaling up the operation in emergency response through an integrated approach accessing hard to reach populations
Overall purpose of the role:
WASH Officer will directly be involved and ensure in the day to day implementation of water, Sanitation and Hygiene activities especially in the areas of intervention. He will also be responsible for WASH components including planning, facilitation of WASH implementation activities through directly involving with the partner agencies/authorities and development of IEC materials and hygiene/sanitation and awareness issues to the IDP and poor host communities to the target areas in accordance with the culture and practices of the local population in Somalia.

Conditions
Contract: 9 months with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and performance. Salary and other conditions are offered by DRC’s Terms of Employment for National Staff; Employment band None Management H2
Availability: 1st May 2024
Duty station: This position is based in Baidoa
Reporting Line: CCCM Manager
