PURPOSE.

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the WASH Project Manager responsibility is to provide administrative and technical support in WASH and facilitate the implementation of projects in the project areas. They will lead in the development, design, and planning of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) projects. Develop innovative and sustainable approaches for water supply and sanitation that speak to the overall strategy of the country. The WASH Project Manager will lead on the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on WASH projects in compliance with the donor and HFH requirements. The WASH Project Manager has a strong understanding of the core elements of WASH program planning and design, a clear vision for how best to support and embed good practice, and experience working to support innovative, impactful programming in diverse and complex contexts.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • With the Support of the Program Manager, lead the development of both strategic leadership and vision to attain the WASH program goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the development of strategic work-plans with clear objectives and achievement benchmarks, long-term and short-term proposal, implementation plans, financial projections, and tools for evaluation.
  • Lead and support WASH Contractors in developing long terms tasks Planning, including community needs assessments, project implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Conduct Performance Coaching and appraisals for WASH Contractors ensuring a learning environment in which the spiritual nature, professional development and personal growth of staff are regarded as priority.
  • Participate in logistics, regulations & security procedures when implementing WASH activities.
  • Coordinate WASH activities and Facilities in schools and communities. .
  • Lead the establishment, Operationalization, and capacity development of various committees in schools and communities. And closely collaborate with them on the implementation of project activities.
  • Update training manuals on Hygiene promotion and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM).
  • Train female teachers on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)
  • Lead the promotion of Hygiene and sanitation best practices regarding CLTS and organize sensitization activities in partnership with the project stakeholders;
  • Coach hygiene club for hygiene video production.
  • Organize waterborne disease prevention training for mothers and local residents.
  • Play a key role in the production of educational materials for hygiene awareness promotion events for students.
  • Lead in collaboration of the R&DC Assistant the organization of the WASH day anniversary
  • Lead in collaboration with the Construction Officer the rehabilitation and construction of WASH infrastructures in compliance with HFH Côte d’Ivoire manuals,
  • Conduct and supervise water testing.
  • Participate in periodic reviews, including quarterly reviews to identify success stories relating to the project and areas of improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Ensure Documentation of all Activities of the Project in soft and hard;
  • Ensure timely submission of weekly/monthly work plans et reports;
  • Documentation of evidence-based impact stories.
  • Ensure compliance with all donor or funding reporting requirements.
  • Liaise regularly with and perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor(s).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas: public health, social work, local Development, and/or Sociology, WASH, Civil Engineering, environment, Infrastructures, hygiene education, water supply or hydrogeology or other fields related to the work of Habitat for Humanity;
  • At least 6 years’ experience in WASH project implementation and coordination in a major Non-Governmental Organizations.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience of community based projects/programs
  • Experience in Budget planning and management and project management including team oversighting;
  • Development and designing of trainings; and facilitating training workshops
  • Experience leading community-focused IEC/BCC campaign in WASH sector will be an added advantage.
  • Experience leading CLTS project
