Contract: Casual Contract expected to finish on 11th March 2025.

Keep Britain Tidy is working with the London Borough of Wandsworth (the council) on behalf of
Serco on a residential engagement and behaviour change doorstepping campaign. The project
involves visiting 65,000 residential properties across the borough to speak to residents on
their doorstep to encourage them to participate in their new food waste recycling service.

Waste & Recycling Advisors will work in pairs and will cover streets, (only low rise
properties, including those converted to up to 3 flats) across the borough each day on foot.

Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with residents about their waste and recycling service, using reference resources
where appropriate (provided by the council).
  • Recording resident responses into a bespoke form using data collection software on a
touchscreen tablet (provided) and submitting this to the Project Manager on a daily basis.

Subject to successful interview there will be three mandatory days of paid training and
applicants must be available to attend all training days.

The successful applicants will have an interest in and understanding of the environmental and
waste sectors, and the ability and willingness to undertake work in an outdoor environment.

This position will provide sought-after experience for someone looking for a career in the
environmental sector, especially the waste and recycling industry, and is paid at the London
Living Wage. In joining this project you also have the opportunity of joining our Bank of
Casual Workers, through which further employment may be available at the end of this contract.

Full training will be provided at the start of the project.
