The Lahontan Regional Water Quality Board’s Wastewater and Agricultural Operation unit has an opening for a Water Resource Control Engineer. The position is located in San Bernardino County at 15095 Amargosa Rd, Building 2, Suite 210, Victorville, CA 92394, close to Interstate 15 exits.

  • The Water Resource Control Engineer is expected to work 40 hours per week. Some telework may be available. 
  • This position involves a portion of fieldwork, and the Water Board provides the affiliated field safety and HAZWOPER training. Sampling of groundwater, surface water, and soil are potential fieldwork components.

Duties: The Water Resource Control Engineer (WRCE) is responsible for providing timely and professional technical responses/assistance to the public and staff within the Department, by phone, e-mail, mail, and in person. The WRCE is required to work independently, communicate effectively, manage multiple cases, review monitoring reports, take enforcement actions, and become proficient in technical duties. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The WRCE drives to conduct field inspections both announced and unannounced as required.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
