Job Description

AECOM has an immediate need for a Water/Wastewater Engineering Technical Leader to serve as the engineering director for the Water Group in our Atlanta, GA office. The Atlanta office has been expanding to serve Georgia and supports offices on projects throughout the Southeast US. This leadership role within AECOM will include project delivery leadership and mentoring of engineering staff. The appropriately qualified applicant will manage an established team of professional engineers on a variety of water and wastewater design projects including collection and distribution pipelines, pumping stations and water/wastewater treatment facilities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaboration with regional and national AECOM experts in the Water Business Line to bring cutting edge solutions and teams to our clients, and to identify new municipal business opportunities with existing clients

  • Work with senior technical staff and marketing staff to prepare a technical response resulting in winning proposals.

  • Conduct planning and staff meetings.

  • Oversee the successful delivery of technical work.

  • Serve as Project Manager, and technical lead for the planning, design, permitting and construction of municipal projects

  • Perform project management activities including coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies; scope, schedule, and budget development; project team coordination; interdisciplinary coordination; budget and schedule tracking.

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and provide professional growth opportunities for team members – with a focus on water/wastewater treatment and conveyance.

Qualifications

NIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer

  • 10+ years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience including the planning, design, and construction of municipal water/wastewater treatment, conveyance and pumping projects.

  • Demonstrated strong project management fundamentals and a proven track record of providing technical leadership to deliver water and wastewater projects successfully.

  • Experience supervising other engineering professionals, and strong staff development, mentoring, and management skills.

  • Proven experience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” approaches including design/build, progressive design/build, and construction management at risk.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • 15+ years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience including the planning, design, and construction of municipal water/wastewater treatment, conveyance and pumping projects.

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia or have the ability to acquire a Georgia license by reciprocity within 6 months.

  • Experience communicating and coordinating effectively with diverse audience groups including clients, the public, regulatory staff, subconsultants, and internal technical staff.

  • Experience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” approaches including design/build, progressive design/build, and construction management at risk.

Offered rate of compensation ([insert state] locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is 175,000 – 190,000
