Kent Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity with more than 31,000 members
and over 1000 registered volunteers. We manage and protect over 9000 acres of land across more
than 90 different sites and nature reserves, alongside 3 visitor centres.

organisations and individuals to protect and restore wildlife and wild spaces and create a
wilder Kent for the benefit of people and the planet.
The opportunity/responsibilities:
As the Weald Area Warden you will manage our nature reserves within the Weald area. Working
with the Area Manager you will undertake management planning and delivery of conservation
habitat management, site maintenance and safety. Monitoring, plan grazing strategies, engage
and manage contractors and graziers. Leading volunteers and engaging and working with
neighbours.
The Weald reserves cover a wide range of habitats over a number of sites, within the High Weald
AONB, Low weald and Greensand ridge. Habitats include Ancient woodlands, Ghyll streams, SSSI
meadows, parkland, and lowland heath. Sites such as Marden meadows, Parsonage Wood, Brenchley
wood, Chilston Ponds and Pines, and more.
You will play a key part in exciting projects planned, as we adopt our wilding approach at new
reserves and work towards our goal of managing 5% of Kents land and sea for nature.
