Position Description
Reporting to the Creative Content Manager, the Web Content Manager directly manages and develops the content on our highly-visible, high-impact divisional websites, from initial content conception through publication, tracking, and maintenance. This individual will work closely with our Communications Leads in messaging and marketing strategy, in order to vitally contributes to our division’s multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns through creating informative and exciting web experiences that greatly enhance our presence and reputation. Through working closely with multiple stakeholders inside and outside the team, this position will create new and/or reimagined web experiences that support student engagement and development, alumni engagement, fundraising, thought leadership, and brand reputation goals for the division and its units while also connecting to communications, marketing and storytelling efforts on other platforms. This role will also maintain the templates and tools for content updaters outside our team to ensure consistency in our standards.
The ideal candidate is easily able to navigate and shift between researching and writing content based on message or marketing goals, identifying visual and multimedia possibilities, and building pages in our Drupal 10 CMS that present users with compelling stories and clear information. Through effective prioritization and sound judgement this role will ensure accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail while balancing diplomacy, empathy and confidence in high-volume, sensitive and/or confidential situations. They have a command of contemporary web content and content strategy approaches, web accessibility standards, vivid intellectual and creative curiosity, enthusiasm for collaborative work, and an understanding of how to maintain and create websites that center the user experience and needs while delivering on established business goals and KPIs.
Using effective communication, and marketing concepts, tools, and techniques, an effective CCM will be proactive, personable, service-oriented and enthusiastic allowing for the development of excellent collaborative working relationships with faculty, students and staff. Through demonstrated project management skills, the CCM will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, adapt to new priorities, meet competing deadlines and spot opportunities as they arise. Utilizing a superior command of writing and editing as well as a vivid intellectual and creative curiosity, this role will remain flexible with a strong attention to detail in order to write quickly, clearly and effectively. While collaboration is critical, the ability to balance independent work and use sound judgement in decision making is also important when identifying new opportunities for executing content strategies within their portfolio.
This 1 year term, benefits eligible, appointment. Extensions beyond that, including promotive opportunities into a non-term role, depend on anticipated business needs and work performance.
