Welder, Helper
TNPRC – Facilities/Maintenance
Location: Covington, LA
Summary
Assists the Welder in performing all welding in the maintenance trade, including above and below finished surfaces.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to learn new processes
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Working knowledge of safe and proper use of hand and power tools
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle
- Must pass Tulane’s MVR requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work in containment and animal areas
- Ability to work in outside conditions
- Ability to obtain OEHS certification for N-95 and SCBA upon employment per OEHS and OSHA regulation section 1910.134.(g) (1)(i) subtitle 1910.134(g)(1)(:)(A), and 1910.134(g)(1)(:)(B) required
- Must maintain SCBA and N-95 certification.
Required Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 6 months of experience related to welding
- Specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in tac welding stick mild steel
- Forklift driving experience
Compensation Information
