Welder, Helper
TNPRC – Facilities/Maintenance
Location:  Covington, LA
Summary

Assists the Welder in performing all welding in the maintenance trade, including above and below finished surfaces.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to learn new processes
• Ability to work effectively as a team member, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
• Working knowledge of safe and proper use of hand and power tools
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle
• Must pass Tulane’s MVR requirements
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to work in containment and animal areas
• Ability to work in outside conditions
• Ability to obtain OEHS certification for N-95 and SCBA upon employment per OEHS and OSHA regulation section 1910.134.(g) (1)(i) subtitle 1910.134(g)(1)(:)(A), and 1910.134(g)(1)(:)(B) required
• Must maintain SCBA and N-95 certification.

Required Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 6 months of experience related to welding
• Specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in tac welding stick mild steel
• Forklift driving experience

Compensation Information
