National Forest Foundation (NFF) is pleased to offer a regular, full-time, and exempt position that will support the construction, restoration and reopening of recreation areas on the Mt. Hood and Willamette National Forests in Oregon.
About the NFF: As the official national partner to the US Forest Service (USFS), the National Forest Foundation was chartered by Congress in 1993. Today, the NFF advances forest resiliency, healthy watersheds and wildlife habitat, and recreation for all by working with communities and organizations across the country. The Foundation has grown significantly in the last few years in programmatic impact, revenue and support, and organizational capacity. NFF leads with impact, deploying roughly 90% of its expenses towards projects and programs across the country’s 193-million-acre National Forest System. NFF is forward-thinking and innovative, with ambitious strategies and goals to advance and prepare forests for a new economy.
Position Function: The Western Oregon Program Coordinator reports to the Pacific Northwest Program Manager. The Coordinator will manage NFF’s portfolio of projects on the forests in Western Oregon which includes but aren’t limited to the Mt. Hood and Willamette National Forests. Likely projects include: the restoration and reopening of recreation sites impacted or closed from wildfires, the development of new recreation infrastructure, and other forest management projects. The Coordinator will work closely with NFF staff, U.S. Forest Service staff and community partners to fundraise, manage grants, and manage contracted services to repair and reopen recreation sites, build new recreation infrastructure, and manage other projects as needed. This work requires close coordination with the U.S. Forest Service, community organizations and implementation partners to accomplish identified goals and activities.

Location: The location is flexible within Western Oregon with a preference for Portland, Salem, Corvallis, Eugene, or surrounding communities. Applicants must be able to travel regularly throughout Western Oregon including travel to the Mt. Hood and Willamette National Forests. This position is a remote/work from home position and requires reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.
Compensation: The NFF offers competitive compensation and benefits. The starting salary range for this position is $68,930 to $70,851, with the ability to grow to $79,326 and above.
