We are seeking a full-time Consulting Biologist – Wetland Specialist in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States. While wetlands will be the focus, the role will support general biology and a wide range of field-based survey efforts. WEST provides mentorship and growth opportunities to early-career or mid-level biologists, and a team of technical and non-technical staff supports all WEST biologists. The minimum base salary for the Consulting Biologist position is $65,000 and the maximum is $75,000, plus annual bonus. Salary may vary based on education, knowledge, and experience.
Job Summary:
Ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience and expertise in wetland delineations and possess the ability to lead field teams in planning and execution of project work based on specific regional guidance. Wetland surveys may occur throughout the western US. This position will include a mix of field and office work and will require travel and overnight stays. Additional roles may include general environmental planning and consulting, overseeing seasonal staff in support of biological surveys, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of biologists, resource specialists, and other technical and non-technical staff to fulfill scopes of work.
