World Food Programme is hiring a Communications / Communications

The PMA works in Honduras to promote and protect the livelihoods and human capital, the deep causes of hunger and poverty are addressed and the basic needs of the most vulnerable populations are met in crisis situations, in close collaboration with the government and other partners in the country.PMA has been present in Honduras since 1970, annually reaching 1.5 million beneficiaries.The PMA has a strong presence in the field, with offices and logistics structure in Tegucigalpa, Comayagua, Marcala, Santa Rosa de Copán, Choluteca, San Pedro Sula, thank God and La Ceiba.

The purpose of this hiring is to execute administrative processes of general communication and in some specialized cases that support the creation of communication content and the provision of communication services aimed at maintaining and improving the visibility and reputation of the PMA and to sustain fund mobilization activities.The head of the position assumes responsibility to carry out a series of communication processes and activities that require a certain level of interpretation of standard guidelines and practices.

Responsibilities (not all inclusive, or exhaustive):

The head of the position accounts to the head of the CAM unit and in general pays accounts to the director of PMA and is responsible for the following functions:

Ensure coordination and provide administrative and specialized services, to help the staff prepare, prepare and execute communication campaigns for the recipients.

Supervise and coordinate materials, schedules, facilities and authorizations, and provide support for special events and video/film, photography and radio projects.

Carry out clearly defined research and prepare reports and provide data that make informed decision making possible.

Follow up traditional media and social media, and communicate the relevant information to higher category personnel to base the elaboration and/or evaluation of communication activities and strategies.

Follow precise orientations, prepare content for traditional and social media platforms and networks, and printed materials, to improve the coverage and support that PMA activities receive, guaranteeing coherence with institutional messages and norms.

Share communication guidelines so that PMA personnel use them as a reference when creating content.

Manage and maintain records and databases, such as contact lists of journalists and media, to ensure that the information is exact, is organized and easily accessible to others.

Respond to a wide variety of support consultations and requests, applying standardized processes and obtaining the necessary orientation, to guarantee the timely and correct resolution of all consultations.

Coordinate, together with the Head of Unit, the Link of PMA personnel and the media to harmonize activities and contribute to the effectiveness of the communication approach within the PMA.

Required qualifications and experience:

Education:

Completion of the Secondary Education cycle.The presentation of a post -secondary education certificate will be assessed in the area of ​​communication, journalism or graphic design.

Experience:

Five years of work experience demonstrated in similar activities.

COMPETENCES AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of various communication techniques.

General knowledge of administrative processes.

Knowledge in drafting rules and good spelling.

Knowledge of graphic design packages, video editing and content development for social networks.

Knowledge of MSOffice, with experience in use of other corporate platforms, database management.

Teamwork ability, capable of providing AD-Hoc orientation to other staff members.

Planning ability, organized.

Customer orientation ability.

Languages:

Oral and written fluidity in Spanish (Level C) and knowledge of the English language at work level for the reading of PMA materials and policies.
