Wildland Fire Management Supervisor (WFMSup)/Wildland Fire Management Lead (WFML)In-Training
Salary: $3,477.00 – $5,117.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:
- This position assists in providing leadership and oversight of the fire program in Clallam and Jefferson Counties for the Washington Department of Natural Resources. You will have the responsibility of hiring, training, and providing daily leadership for 1 engine module leader and 3 firefighters.
- This position also assists with our regulation and prevention efforts within the region. Duties include public speaking about fire prevention activities to groups, including school children and homeowners. Posting and maintenance of fire danger signs and kiosks, industrial fire tool inspections, and burn permitting are also duties of this position.
- This position assists with and coordinates Forest Resilience activities within the region. These activities include prescribed fire support, fuels treatments, and site visits for landowners.
- This position’s main responsibility in the summer is serving as an engine boss on one of our engines. Supervising four employees during Wildland Fire Operations in the region, in the state, and nationally.
This may be filled as an in-training position. This is designated as an 18-24-month training plan (may be extended to 36 months). If you complete all elements of the training steps in a shorter amount of time, we may waive the remainder of the time required. Candidates will be considered as Wildland Fire Management Lead (WFML) In-Training or Wildland Fire Management Supervisor (WFMSup), depending on qualifications.

(Salary range: $3,477.00-$4,632.00 per month):
- NWCG Qualification of Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1).

Wildland Fire Management Supervisor (WFMSup)
(Salary range: $3,811.00-$5,117.00 per month):
- Any NWCG Single Resource Boss qualification.
- Two years’ experience in wildland fire management, natural resources, forestry, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Experience leading wildland firefighting personnel.
