(Reposted for additional openings to match increasing project work load) – Precision Wildlife Resources, LLC is a small, well-established environmental firm in Gillette, Wyoming looking to expand our full-time staff.  We provide natural resource services across several types of projects, primarily in the Rocky Mountain Region and surrounding states.  Job duties include wildlife monitoring and reporting, mitigation, and research; biological permitting; impact assessments; and conservation and habitat management planning.  Fieldwork covers all seasons throughout broad geographies and diverse habitats, targeting a wide array of wildlife and project applications.  Depending on experience, a phased professional development program is included, with a focus on project orientation; pertinent survey protocols, implementation, other technical aspects; and agency/client policy review and application in the initial year(s).  Subsequent experience incorporates project management responsibility, business integration and marketing, and client budget development and advanced policy consultation.    

Required qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1+ years of applicable experience in wildlife survey implementation, biological data entry and technical report writing, and strong familiarity with GIS data storage and mapping;
  • A strong desire to learn, attention to detail, and the ability to sort, process, and retain critical information;
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with an emphasis on proven responsibility and accountability;
  • A clean driving record and ability to adhere to strict drug and safety policies; and
  • The ability to accommodate substantial travel in spring and early summer for fieldwork.

Other preferred qualifications include:

  • Excellent avian and vegetation identification skills for the Rocky Mountain Region;
  • Prior work experience on private lands and successfully interacting with private landowners for conservation initiatives;
  • Previous consulting experience with natural resource management services related to energy development and agricultural operations; and
  • Demonstrated skills with allocated project budgets and deliverable deadlines.
