GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Step into the field and make a direct impact on Wyoming’s wildlife and outdoor heritage.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking a Wildlife Technician based in Cody, Wyoming. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while contributing to critical wildlife management efforts across the region.
In this dynamic position, you’ll assist with data collection, biological sampling, wildlife disease monitoring, and wildlife damage investigations. You’ll play an important role in resolving wildlife conflicts, supporting damage control efforts, and engaging with the public—all while ensuring compliance with Wyoming statutes, Commission regulations, and Department policy.
You’ll also support the Wildlife Division’s Access Yes Program, helping maintain and enhance public hunting and fishing opportunities. From posting signs to improving access areas, your work will directly contribute to connecting people with Wyoming’s outdoor resources while supporting sound wildlife management.
In addition to fieldwork, you’ll help keep the regional office running smoothly by providing professional front-line support. This includes assisting customers at the front counter, answering phone inquiries, sharing boating and wildlife information, performing light maintenance, and supporting ongoing biological sampling efforts.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of field and office work, values public service, and is eager to contribute to the conservation and management of Wyoming’s wildlife.
