General description:

Under the direct supervision of the WPE Project Manager, the position holder will be responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the WPE programme activities.

·       Assist the WPE Project Manager and other NPA units in the process of partner identification and verification.

·       Maintain active coordination and cooperation with local partners and I/NGOs..

·       Be the principal day to day link between NPA and its partners.

·       Closely follow up the status of human rights, specifically women rights’,  in the KRI and Federal Iraq and share updates accordingly.

·       Interact with local communities and authorities and may, should the occasion arise, have to act variously as advocate and/or moderator. These functions require on the part of the position holder, an ability to relate to the needs and aspirations of the vulnerable groups in a manner that is both supportive and respectful of culture and traditions.

 

Specific duties:

·       Assist in overseeing the implementation of the projects’ activities in accordance with plans and activity budget.

·       Assist the WPE Project Manager in monitoring the work plans, budgets, and progress reports that NPA donors require, also all reports required from partner organisations. 

·       Contribute to monitoring the projects’ expenditures.

·       In liaison with the MEAL Department, prepare and regularly update the Project Monitoring Plan (PMP).

·       Organise and participate in grant opening meetings, steering committee meetings and other meetings. Conduct required preparation for the meetings and strictly follow up the decisions made in the meetings.  

·       Assist in overseeing the contracts with partners, ensuring timeliness of their reports, in cooperation with the other NPA units.

·       Conduct regular visits and communication with partners on a regular basis to follow up project activity implementation and provide support when required.

·       Participate in conducting assessment meetings with potential local partners.

·       Assist the NPA team in the process of partners’ capacity development assessment.

·       Participate in giving inputs and updates for different reports such as Annual and Final Narrative Reports, Quarterly Reports, among others.

·       Represent NPA in formal events such as conferences and meetings conducted by stakeholders.

·       Develop and maintain proper soft and hard copy archiving for all projects under their responsibility.

·       Other duties assigned by the WPE Project Manager and/or the Country Director in relation to programme’ issues.

Reference is made to the NPA Regulation for Delegation of Authority, Quality Management and Guidelines for the NPA Iraq Office.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

The position is based in Duhok, KRI with travel to other areas of operation within KRI and Federal Iraq as required.

                                                                                                                                              

·       High interest in working in the Humanitarian and Development Sector (especially the work in regard  to women empowerment).

·       Active participation and experience in engaging with volunteering initiatives such as, humanitarian sector, women’s rights, youth, etc.

·       Bachelor degree in social science, political science, human rights, Computer Science or other relevant advanced educational degree.

·       Proficiency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish language skills, both written and verbal.

·       Good interpersonal skills, good communication, organizational and analytical skills and ability to work well in a team.

·       Good understanding of report methodology and report writing.

·       Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and work collaboratively within a team to address emerging challenges and opportunities in the field of women protection and empowerment.

·       Commitment to self-reflection, continuous learning, and personal growth in understanding and addressing issues affecting women from diverse backgrounds.

·       Strong coordination skills, with the ability to lead, inspire and build competence of implementing partner staff and achieve results through others.
