Job Summary

The Women’s Empowerment Trainer is responsible for training beneficiaries regarding various women’s empowerment topics. This role may also include assessments, beneficiary selection, procurement support, and follow-up home visits to best support the beneficiaries. Their primary objective is to improve the beneficiaries’ overall sense of self-efficacy and improve personal, familial, and communal practices. The Women’s Empowerment Trainer will work in villages targeted by the Living Water Program and will work closely with the other trainer, the WASH Trainer. Job duties also include performing all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of Samaritan’s Purse with a generous and serving spirit, always maintaining the values of Samaritan Purse’s to beneficiaries and coworkers.

 

Job Duties:

  • Ensure the timely and satisfactory completion of the project’s activities, specifically overseeing the training and education sessions for beneficiaries regarding women’s empowerment
  • Identify gaps in knowledge regarding the topics and participate in other supporting activities such as hygiene kit distributions, procurement, and beneficiary selection.
  • Coordinate and implement any surveys or data collection methods as directed by the WASH Program Manager
  • Coordinate and consult with local authorities to ensure buy-in and agreement of the activities
  • Work closely with the other WASH Trainer and other members of the WASH team including the WASH Program Coordination and WASH Program Manager, to ensure close collaboration between teammates and that the program’s goals are reached.
  • Regularly report on program activities and data to the WASH Program Manager
  • Effectively coordinate with multiple departments: IT, security, logistics, human resources, finance, warehouse, and other programs to further relevant program activities
  • Complete other activities and reports as assigned

Education / Experience Needed

  • Previous work experience in leading trainings, behavior change, or teaching is preferred.
  • Experience working with a NGO in the past is preferred.
