About your role

As an experienced Team Leader, your primary responsibility involves leading, mentoring and supporting a team of dedicated practitioners across a 24/7 roster. It is expected that you will draw upon your existing knowledge, skills, and experience to ensure the Womensline service delivery is aligned with operational, contractual and legislative obligations. This encompasses tasks such as, but not limited to, risk assessments, case recommendations, overseeing and managing staff workflows, conducting performance reviews and provide professional judgment to assist others in resolving complex client cases.

In a co-operative leadership environment, you will assist the Service Delivery Manager across various service delivery tasks, such as but not limited to, liaising with external stakeholders, participating in meetings and conferences, and providing ad-hoc project-related support.

What you need to succeed

  • Proven leadership experience in at least one (1) of the following areas: Domestic, family and intimate Partner Violence, sexual violence and abuse, child protection and/or residential support, specialist trauma counselling or mental health sector.
  • Completed tertiary qualification(s) in Social and Behavioural Sciences or other appropriate field(s).
  • Well-developed knowledge and analysis of the effects, causes and dynamics of domestic and family violence.
  • Knowledge of Queensland Domestic Violence Legislations, particularly the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
  • Highly developed telephone counselling and risk assessment skills, preferably in domestic violence and/or crisis work.
  • Capacity to work and support staff in a complex and often demanding work environment, whilst remaining calm.
  • Exceptional and effective interpersonal, communication, and engagement/consultation skills.
  • Commitment to social justice, DVConnect values and its’ role in delivering services to people impacted by violence and abuse.
  • Positive Notice Blue Card and National Police Check or ability and willingness to obtain.
  • Flexibility across a 7-day roster.
  • Right to work in Australia with no restrictions.
