make their difference tackling the nature and climate crisis helping protect, restore and
create our vital woods and trees.

THE ROLE

The Woodland Outreach Adviser will focus on increasing restoration and sustainable management
of ancient woodland across the North of England through raising the profile of ancient
woodland, managing existing partner relationships, and forging new ones to develop and deliver
new funded project ideas. The role will also be responsible for working through consultants to
deliver advice and support to landowners. The role will build on our strong history of
supporting landowners, inspiring and enabling them to make a long-lasting impact.

This role is a fixed term contract until the end of May 2026. A company car will be provided.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have experience in building partnerships, generating
project and funding ideas, and successfully developing and delivering projects on time and to
budget. You will use your excellent communication skills to represent the Woodland Trust in a
professional, competent, and positive manner to engage and inspire a range of different
audiences, championing the cause of ancient woodland and inspiring action to bring more woods
into positive management.

You will have experience of building partnerships and meaningful working relationships with a
range of key stakeholders, including landowners and land agents, statutory and public bodies.
You’ll be able to deliver through others including partners, contractors, and professional
consultants, ensuring the impact of projects are maximised. You’ll have a collaborative
approach with experience of working with multiple teams and organisations for a shared purpose.

You’ll be results driven and innovative, with experience in the land management sector and
knowledge of land management funding streams, including grants and markets for wood products.

The role is based in the North of England and we would require the successful candidate to be
based in or very near the Yorkshire or Cumbria area.

Our Organisational Nature enables us to better understand what it means to be part of the
Woodland Trust, empowering us to make an impact, every day. We want you to be able to role
model our values; ‘Grow Together’, ‘Focus’, ‘Make it Count’ and ‘Explore’ to ensure each of us
plays our part in helping to protect, restore and create our woods and trees.

There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Joining the team you will be making your
contribution to tackling the nature and climate crisis. In return, we recognise and value our
people. You’ll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development,
along with a contributory pension, life assurance, good holiday allowance and the opportunity
to work flexibly from home.
