The International Alumni Center (iac Berlin) was founded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung in 2017 to support the development of networks for social impact. It advises foundations and other nonprofit organizations, provides practical solutions for the design of networks and initiates new forms of collaboration. 

The iac Berlin also coordinates the “Bosch Alumni Network,” which connects more than 8,500 former and current fellows, grantees, partners and employees of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and its partners, and supports them as agents of change in their communities. The network contributes to an open, just and sustainable world by convening diverse perspectives, enabling knowledge sharing and empowering members to take collective action. With a decentralized structure and clusters based on topic and region, the network brings together members with common interests and different backgrounds from around 140 countries, to foster cross-sectoral exchange and international collaborations. 

We are looking for a working student (m/f/d) to support us in Project & Event Management in the Bosch Alumni Network for at least 6 months starting 2. August 2024. 

Your responsibilites will include: 

  • Supporting project managers in managing network projects, e.g. participant management, co-assessment of project applications, preparation & follow-up of invoices, creation of online surveys
  • Support in the planning and execution of events, e.g. room design, coordinating catering or accommodations, support of participants
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations and doing research on network related topics 
  • Support in community building and maintaining contacts, networking and engaging members
  • (Technical) support for online events and other online formats 

What you bring with you: 

  • First practical experience in the areas of project and event management  
  • Interest in community building and international work in the non-profit sector 
  • At least six months of your time, during which you must retain student status at a German or foreign university  

You are a great fit if:  

  • You are interested in the areas of international cooperation, social innovation and philanthropy 
  • You want to expand your skills in planning and implementing peer-learning events 
  • You are familiar with the common Office applications, Slack, Trello and other supporting tools for online formats (especially Zoom, Miro, Mentimeter etc.) or you are able to familiarize yourself with these quickly 
  • You approach new tasks with an open mind and a hands-on mentality 
  • You have oral and written fluency in English, very good knowledge of German and find it easy to approach people 
  • You like to work independently and autonomously, and you do not find it difficult to work in decentralized team structures 
  • You keep a holistic perspective even in challenging situations; you are flexible and a team player
