Background and purpose of assignment:
CARE is implementing 6 months WASH project funded by the Prolok in Duhok Governorate. Project activities include rehabilitation of the Water borehole and water pipe extension and awareness with capacity building training also a workshop on Encouraging Water Recycling and Water Efficiency in Local Authority Departments.
The moderator will play a critical role in facilitating a successful and impactful workshop that promotes water recycling and efficiency within local authority departments. Also, the moderator is responsible for sorting out a comprehensive report summarizing key perceptions, issues addressed, and recommendations at the conclusion of each session. This report will be valuable for future planning and improvement initiatives.
Scope of Work:
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive workshop agenda covering key topics such as the importance of water conservation, principles of water recycling, best practices for water efficiency, and strategies for implementation.
- Placement academic methodologies to facilitate participant learning and engagement, including interactive presentations, case studies, group discussions, and practical exercises.
- Tailor workshop content and examples to resonate with the cultural context and priorities of the county, ensuring relevance and applicability to local stakeholders.
- Encourage active participation and collaboration among workshop participants, fostering a supportive environment for sharing experiences, ideas, and challenges related to water conservation.
- Provide guidance and practical advice to participants on developing action plans and initiatives to promote water recycling and efficiency within their departments.
- Ensure the workshop adheres to the scheduled timeline and objectives, effectively managing time and resources throughout the two-day session.
- Enhance a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages open communication and respect for diverse perspectives among participants.
- Collect feedback from workshop participants to assess the effectiveness of the event and identify areas for improvement in future initiatives.
Objective(s) and Outcome(s)
The aim of this workshop is to promote the concepts of water recycling and water efficiency within local authority departments. The workshop will equip participants with practical knowledge and strategies to implement water-saving initiatives in their respective departments, thereby contributing to water conservation efforts at the local level.
- Master’s degree and above in environmental science, water management, sustainability, or a related field.
- More than three years of experience in water conservation, recycling, and efficiency practices, with a focus on academic research and practical implementations.
- More than three years of experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, or similar educational events, preferably within local government or public administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and foster productive discussions.
- Knowledge of the cultural context and priorities of the county, along with sensitivity to local customs, traditions, and language.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to plan and execute complex events effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate varying learning styles and participant needs during the workshop.
