Local – Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term)

Job Description:

Children living and/or working on the street access basic services through outreach, temporary shelter and referrals to partner organisations.

  • Engage with Street children’s actors (CBOs, CSOs, INGOs, DSW) in Mandalay to address the needs of children and future collaboration
  • Undertake outreach activities with local partners to identify and build relationships with children living and /or working on the street to refer them to temporary shelters and partner organisations
  • Provide NFE, Dare to Discover and life skill training to target populations through outreach and/or referrals to partner organizations
  • Provide parental education to target populations through street children’s parents & caregivers.
  • Provide or refer target population for psychological first aid and psycho-social support to children accessing the temporary shelter
  • Link target population to partner organizations for basic vocational training and other recreational activities
  • Celebrate Children’s events (UNCRC day & Myanmar Children’ Day) and other conduct dialogue with children and care giver/ partners
  • Children & young leaders are learning and leading initiatives, contributing to decisions and advocating for their well-being/rights at national, regional, and global level platforms

Community people took part responsibilities in child development and protection issues in the targeted community.

  • Increased knowledge of child care and child protection among parents through parental education
  • Increased number of children living within their community with their parents and/or care givers
  • Increased number of parents who took responsibilities for their children’s education affairs

Children are prepared for reintegration with family or other long-term care options.

  • Reintegration plan developed for children on the initial accessing to access temporary shelter in conjunction with relevant authorities and partners
  • Conduct family tracing and assessment for children accessing outreach and temporary shelters, including introductory meeting with family members to explain
  • Facilitate reintegration of children back into their families in collaboration with authorities, partners and department of social welfare
  • Provide small scale integration support to the family of reconciled children (e.g. financial support to start a small business, education, vocational training etc.)
  • Facilitate referral of children from outreach and temporary shelters to alternative care options as per recommendation from case management
  • Conduct follow-up visit to reconciled children at regular intervals

Local partner organisation equips quality of care and services to vulnerable children.

  • Local partner child care organizations received necessary technical supports regarding child rights and protection issues.
  • Local partner child care organizations actively participated in vulnerable children’s issues.
  • Activities were implemented according to the quality standards.

Project data are recorded and updated.

  • All data of project activities have been recorded and updated.
  • Monthly reports submitted on time.

Required Professional Experience

  • Experiences in working with children especially orphan and vulnerable children ( Children who need special protection)

Required Education, training, license, registration and certification

  • Educated to degree level standard.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Good knowledge on child development and protection issues,
  • community development, community management skills,
  • command of Myanmar & English. Good planning and organizing skills.
