Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the production of communication resources for key stakeholders such as partners, donors, beneficiaries and WVV staff:
- Lead internal/WVV staff communications processes that support and advance the strategic goal of WV Vanuatu and its core ministry functions.
- Manage the relevance of the work of WV Vanuatu with in country and international media;
- Lead external communications on a range of development and advocacy issues across many platforms;
- Support on the reporting of our advocacy achievements to the Regional Office and GC;
- Direct communications in emergency and reputation risk issues;
- Alignment of national-level communications strategy with global strategy Our Promise 2030
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Vocational training degree, preferably in communications or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience leading and managing communications and production teams, preferably in international NGOs or creative industries.
- Advanced communications technical skills, including photography, video production, editorial work, graphic design, media relations, and digital content development.
- Advanced computer proficiency on Mac and PC, including editing skills using Adobe and Apple software for video, photo, media, and design.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including strong speaking and writing skills in both Bislama and English.
- Strong knowledge of communications practices, tools, techniques, social media, media engagement, and the wider communications and media industry.
- Familiarity with graphic design, preferably Adobe programs, and familiarity with web page design.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, project management, and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and contribute to a team-building environment.
- Proactivity, self-motivation, creativity, and ability to develop relevant marketing and communications content.
- Proven experience in training and capacity building of others is desirable.
- Knowledge of international development, World Vision development practice, and communications needs is desirable.
- Ability to travel locally and internationally when required, and to walk long distances when required.
