Taylor Hopkinson is partnered with a leading developer to appoint a WTG Package Manager to primarily lead across a major offshore wind development project in the UK.The role will be accountable for the planning and delivery of the wind turbine package until operational handover which will include the management of the WTG scope, HSE, quality, budget, resource and time scheduling in line with the project strategy and governance.This is a full-time, staff role with a base location in the UK. However, will consider somebody from out with the UK who are open to regular travel.Role:

  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) package including tendering of WTG, leading contract negotiations, maintain the WTG supply contract after signature and delivery of the whole package scope (engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning) until handover to operations.
  • Oversee the WTG package team from the initial development phases through to construction and operational handover.
  • Implement a comprehensive approach to HSE and quality management in accordance with the company’s established management systems for the WTG Package.
  • Plan and control package budget and align with commercial functions and identify, mitigate and control WTG-related risks and align within the Risk Manager.
  • Provide support to project development activities, such as consenting, planning and auction preparation.
  • Actively promote lessons-learned exchange with WTG packages in other projects and throughout the organisation.
  • Support the development of best-practice solutions and provide support to other colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar subject.
  • Sound technical knowledge of large electrical / mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience in major contract negotiations and contract management of large infrastructure investment projects is essential.
  • Extensive experience in project management positions for large infrastructure or energy projects, ideally with specific experience on delivery of WTG packages for offshore wind farm projects
  • Project management certification preferred but not essential.
  • Strong team player with demonstrable team leadership and management skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills with people of different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Significant organisational and prioritising skills and the ability to work independent and from various locations.
  • A flexible approach to work and willingness to travel up to 30% of time domestically and internationally.
