A bit about the role

Our Young Person’s Practitioner role sits at the heart of the CashBack Connections service, helping to ensure young people receive high‑quality, coordinated support. You’ll contribute to the smooth running of the service by providing strong administrative leadership, supporting staff, and helping maintain the systems and processes that enable effective delivery.

About the Service

CashBack Connections supports young people aged 11–18 who are facing difficult circumstances that may place them at risk of being drawn into criminal activity through no fault of their own. The service offers understanding, guidance, and practical support to help young people stay safe in all areas of their lives — including within peer groups, their community, and online. A key aim is to protect young people from criminal exploitation and the harms associated with more serious offending, including Serious Organised Crime.

Each young person is matched with a dedicated worker who provides consistent, relational support that is strengths‑based, trauma‑informed, and rooted in children’s rights. Using a Contextual Safeguarding approach, workers help young people build safety for themselves and others, work through past challenges, and move towards their full potential. Support is offered flexibly across communities, schools, homes, and at key times such as evenings and weekends.

Young people receive personalised, holistic support tailored to their needs, preferences, and aspirations. This may include one‑to‑one support, groupwork, safety planning, wellbeing and emotional regulation skills, pro‑social activities, skills development and accreditation, family support, community connections, and pathways into education, training, or employment. Every young person is supported to build confidence, resilience, and skills, with a clear route towards positive future opportunities.

What you do could make a difference

Some key responsibilities of the Young Person’s Practitioner role are;

  • Supporting the smooth coordination of the CashBack Connections service by providing high‑quality administrative leadership.
  • Working closely with staff and managers to ensure young people’s support packages are recorded, tracked, and organised effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate information, data, and documentation that reflect the progress and outcomes of young people’s involvement in the service.
  • Assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, and materials that help communicate the impact of the service.
  • Providing a warm, professional point of contact for families, partners, and visitors engaging with the service.
  • Helping to organise meetings, activities, and events that support young people’s participation and development.
  • Ensuring administrative processes, systems, and records are kept up to date and aligned with organisational standards.

Let’s talk about you

  • Experience working within a multi-agency environment such as social care, early years, or health services, with a strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
  • Background in supporting individuals who have offended or are at risk of offending.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Experience managing cases in line with agreed procedures, including completing assessments, planning, and reviews to support positive outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in engaging with young people and actively listening to their voices.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Relevant lived experience.
