Position: Youth and Community Engagement Officer

Location: South Downs Centre, Midhurst (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £33,581 to £40,111

Hours: 37 hours per week

Type of post: Temporary for up to 12 months – maternity cover

South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and
experienced individual to lead our Youth and Community Engagement work as a maternity cover.
This exciting role will take forward our ambitions to create a National Park for All and is a
chance to make a real difference to the young people and landscapes of this special place.

You will be a passionate advocate for learning outdoors and be innovative in your approach to
communicating key National Park messages to a wide audience. The role includes direct delivery
of engaging learning sessions with schools and youth groups both within their settings and out
in the National Park. You will be experienced in working with young people from a range of
backgrounds and ages and will lead on the youth engagement programmes of the National Park
Authority including Youth Action volunteering, and Youth Voice.

Strong partnership working is essential, with key responsibilities including supporting the
SDNP learning networks, as well as delivering projects with a range of organisations across the
region.
