Job description
As a Youth Caseworker you will be working as part of the Getting It Together Scheme (GITS), providing early intervention to young people (12-25 years old) who have concerns with drugs and alcohol. You will provide services and support through case management, referrals and/or brokerage services.
About the Role
This is a full time, fixed term position for 12 months. Based in Campbelltown.
- Provide assistance to young people and their families where drugs and alcohol are identified as an issue for the young person
- Follow the Trauma Informed Framework with the young person and their families to assess level of risk and/or identify their strengths
- Develop one on one working relationships with young people to meet their immediate and future needs
- Delivery of workshops to target vulnerable young people (groups/schools)
- Mentor and coach young people in decision making, self manage situations/crisis to
About You
- Two years experience working with vulnerable, at risk young people
- Previous experience working with youth/adults with drug and alcohol concerns essential
- Experience facilitating one on one and groups
- Demonstrated understanding of the child protection legislation and experience working within the legislation
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting homeless young people and their families
- Demonstrated experience working with young people with challenging behaviours
- Drivers licence
