We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Hub Engagement Officer to join the Community Partnerships department at Nillumbik Shire Council.

  • Competitive Salary: Band 6, $102,983 to $112,059 total remuneration per annum that includes 11% super and annual leave loading.
  • Temporary full time position (2 years).
  • Based in Council’s new Youth Hub in Diamond Creek, and Civic Drive Greensborough.

As our Youth Hub Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful management and operation of the ground-breaking Nillumbik Youth Hub. Working closely with the Team Leader Youth Development, you will have the opportunity to coordinate a wide range of services and programs, while also leading the planning and development of essential systems, processes, and procedures.

As the Youth Hub Engagement Officer, you will have the power to shape the future of the Nillumbik Youth Hub and establish strong partnerships to ensure it is well utilised, responsive and accessible to the needs of young people aged 12-25 years old.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver dynamic youth-focused programs and activities at the Nillumbik Youth Hub. Prepare to unleash your creativity and make a lasting impact.
  • Serving as the welcoming face of the Nillumbik Youth Hub by providing comprehensive intake, referral, and general support services to young people, families, and community members who seek assistance.
  • Forging strong partnerships with service organisations to create a vibrant network of diverse youth services and programs. Your focus will be on prevention and early intervention, empowering young people to thrive.

What’s on offer?

  • Exciting opportunity to shape Nillumbik’s first Youth Hub and support local young people.
  • Days and Hours of Work: Must be available evenings (typically until 7pm four days per week) with one day more flexible, totalling 38 hours per week with a monthly RDO.
