ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a positive and dedicated Youth Worker for a part-time role for the Youth Residential Service, that will be available to work 36 hours per fortnight.

Week 1:

  • Monday 4.00pm – 11.30pm (sleepover); Tuesday 7.30am – 9.00am.
  • Wednesday 4:00pm – 11:30pm (sleepover); Thursday 7:30am – 9:00am
  • Saturday 4:00pm – 11:30pm
  • Sunday 7:30am – 9:00am

Week 2:

  • Wednesday 4:00pm – 11:30pm (sleepover);
  • Thursday 7.30am – 9.00am

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Provide support and assistance with living skills, connections with the community, personal and social development, employment, education and training.
  • Assist young people to follow up actions from their case management plans including housing, income, education and training, health and wellbeing, general living skills and recreational activities.
  • Complete client file notes as needed and assist with administration duties to help operations run smoothly.
  • Motivate young clients to achieve meaningful goals and make a real difference in young people’s lives.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or are you in your final year of a Social Work, Youth Work, or relevant Social Science related qualification
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of youth-focused practice frameworks such as strengths-based or trauma-informed practice
  • You have highly developed communication skills including relationship building, problem solving and report writing
  • You pride yourself on your ability to motivate and advocate for clients to achieve outcomes
  • You are highly competent using the full suite of Microsoft applications
  • You are able to maintain accurate confidential administrative records and progress notes
