- Full time, Maximum term until 30 June 2024 (with possibility of extension)
- Based at Horsham
About the opportunity
As a Youth Support Worker, working as part of our Homelessness Services Program you will provide direct transitional support to young people, couples and families 15-25 years in the Wimmera who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The position also provides case management and transitional support including life skills training, advocacy and assistance to access appropriate short, medium and long-term housing.

What’s on offer

About you
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including holding a tertiary qualification or substantial relevant experience in human services, welfare, youth work or a related discipline.
You will also have:
- A sound knowledge of the underlying principles of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
- Previous experience working with vulnerable young people and their families.
- An understanding of the complex issues that may lead to a young person’s unstable accommodation/homelessness.
- A client focused approach, with the ability to prioritise the individual needs of each client.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
