Carinity Education – Shalom has opportunities for a Youth Worker – Learning Support to join the Primary School team on a permanent basis.

About the role:
The Youth Worker – Learning Support will assist students in completing their studies as well as with their social emotional development.
The role position is located at Carinity Education – Shalom. This School is recognised for providing culturally appropriate education for predominantly Indigenous students in Prep to Year 12 from the Townsville area. Carinity will continue to work with and support this valuable service.
What do I need for the role?
- Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in a support capacity.
- Experience in providing support to marginalised young people, particularly those who have been victims of abuse, neglect, substance abuse and/or self-harm.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to youth at risk and to assist with behaviour management, to build positive, professional relationships with young people.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills
