AST/ASO/FULL PROF – Medical Microbiology

The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, non-tenure track, with focus in Medical Microbiology. Clinical responsibilities will be in the microbiology divisions of both the Shands Hospital Laboratory as well as UF Health Pathology Laboratories. Additional opportunities will be available to grow and develop within in the laboratory based on interests and needs including leadership roles, point-of-care, clinical laboratory support service which includes phlebotomy and preanalytical areas. Primary responsibilities will involve clinical service and teaching of residents and medical students. Scholarly study and investigation in the applicant’s area of interest is expected.

Salary is between $200,000 – $300,000 commensurate with rank and experience.

Physician applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in Clinical Pathology or AP/CP and possess or be eligible for a Florida Medical license. Non-physicians must possess a PhD degree and board certification or eligibility in Medical Microbiology (American Board of Medical Microbiology) and be able to hold a Florida Laboratory Director License. Relevant fellowship training is is highly desirable.
