Conservation Corps Supervisor

The Conservation Corps Supervisor lead the Conservation Corps to implement major portions of the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Sustanability Plan. 

What you’ll do

• Lead conservation crews in converting turf and landscaped areas to native vegetation and removing invasive species to restore natural habitats.
• Supervise planting and maintenance crews across native landscape projects to ensure work is completed safely and to standard.
• Prepare plans and estimates for large-scale conversions to native vegetation and coordinate resources to deliver projects on time.
• Monitor plant populations and develop management plans, including fertilizer and herbicide applications, to sustain long-term health of natural areas.
• Develop and implement prescribed burn plans, supervise staff during burn preparation and execution, and coordinate with partner organizations.
• Create schedules, track costs, prepare reports, and work with staff and partners to maintain efficient operations.
