Overview of position:
To sustain historic gains and break the cVPV2 transmission, our client has been supporting the government of Nigeria through the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) in its outbreak response as the lead social & behaviour change partner. To help our client make informed decisions by analyzing social data to understand the social barriers to immunization after every campaign & providing insights, visualization & recommendations based on that analysis to the government & other GPEI partners. The complexity & scope of our current data related initiatives necessitate additional expertise to ensure accurate & timely analysis. The need for the Data Consultants is justified based on the reasons highlighted below:
Specialized skills & expertise: The data landscape is continuously evolving, demanding specialized skills in analytics, interpretation & strategic application. A dedicated Data Consultant will bring vital expertise to enhance our data related functions.
Efficiency & accuracy: A Data Consultant will significantly contribute to maintaining the accuracy & quality of our data related processes. Their proficiency in handling complex data sets will ensure efficient & error free outcomes.
Objective perspective: An external consultant brings a fresh perspective & unbiased insights into our data management practices, offering innovative solutions & best practices.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work closely with the government & partners at the national & state level to ensure timely availability of campaign related social data analysis.
Conduct in depth analysis of state data & share feedback with state, LGA & Ward Supervisors.
Collect, compile, quality assure & submit RI / polio data from Volunteer Community Mobilizers (VCM) catchment areas on timely manner.
Implement quantitative & qualitative rapid assessment pre & post campaign particularly on social & behaviours factors in Outbreak Responses (OBRs) & SIAs.
Ensure the timely availability of data for VCM net performance monitoring & accountability reports.
Ensure pre campaign, campaign & post campaign data uploaded to the server & timely analyzed.
Support the collection, collation & reporting of individual missed children’s data after every campaign.
Attend NEOC meetings & provide technical support to the data team.
Real time monitoring & reporting of our clients Management Support Team (MST) participation during polio campaigns.
Organize capacity development trainings on data management for health workers in our client supported facilities as well as state & LGA team.
Deliverables:
Technical support for evidence generation, monitoring & evaluation & his strengthening for the national EOC & FCT.
Supported SIA campaigns both polio & non polio SIAs.
Analysis of post campaign data for decision making (IM, LQAS, tally sheet, redo / NC data) & maintained database for individualized missed children’s data.
Technically support Risk Communication and Demand Generation (RCDG) & data team working group in the NEOC for data collection, analysis & reporting.
Submit weekly communication feedback, ANC & RI summary from VCM settlements a& share feedback with national & state teams.
Organized at least 2 capacity development training for the state team on data management & reporting.
Monitor & report our client SF, LGAF & Ward Supervisors’ participation during SIAs, real time monitoring & submission of ODK reports.
Project reporting:
This role reports to the line manager.
Key competencies:
Masters degree in any of the following fields is required, namely social science, demography, computer sciences, geographic information systems, statistics, epidemiology, health education, or a relevant field.
Fluency in English as a working language.
Knowledge of another UN language an asset.
5 years of relevant work experience is required.
Experience in complex & large scale data management using MySQL workbench.
Familiarity with different data analytics & visualization & practical experience in development of real monitoring dashboards using BI applications & other mobile application platforms like ODK.
Excellent communication & presentation skills (written & verbal) across multiple audiences with the ability to influence others while working in a multicultural, multiethnic environment with sensitivity & respect for diversity.
High motivation & dedication to deliver results within strict timeframes.
Experience in overseeing large, decentralized teams & contractors.
Team management:
This role has no team management responsibility.
