Remote Working – covering the North of England area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join this respected, long-established international medical device manufacturing company. They are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer with significant experience in service, diagnosing and repair of surgical medical equipment and instruments.

The Field Service Engineer will cover a territory from north of Birmingham up to the Scottish border.

We can only consider candidates who are located with this region.

Job Summary:

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for routine servicing, installations and repairs to all types of equipment manufactured and factored by the Company to conform to all standards currently in force. You will also provide technical support and training to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, Service and repair ophthalmic medical devices in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues.
  • Provide technical support to customers and assist with training on the proper use and maintenance of medical devices.
  • Complete all service centre documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Provide feedback to Customer Service Co-ordinators regarding contract renewals.
  • Provide back-up cover for other Field Service Engineers as and when required.
  • Assist with exhibitions when required.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and follow-up.
  • Attend and actively participate in both in-house and external training courses to improve product and technical knowledge.

Skills:

  • Significant experience in medical field service engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues in a logical manner.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Possess good attention to detail, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills and a flexible approach to work.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home overnight when required.

Qualifications:

  • HNC / ONC, BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ in Electronics or equivalent
  • IT skills including excellent networking knowledge.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
