International Waqf Fund is a faith-inspired development and Endowment agency working since 2004 to transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in over 40 countries.

Our Birmingham, UK office is recruiting for the position on ‘Corporate Services Manager’ to join the Waqf team on a permanent, full-time basis. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.

The department responsibilities include sustainable investment management; portfolio development; finance optimization; Sadaqah Jariyah; business development; internal communications; and staff training.

The purpose of the role is to coordinate the development and management of effective governance structures and processes that enable the Trustees and Director of International Waqf Fund to lead the development and oversight of the IWF investments and income in order to effectively fulfil its objectives, vision and mission. To oversee departmental corporate governance structures (finance, admin, HR, facilities, compliance), in line with annually agreed targets and budgets from major donor opportunities & partnerships; in support of the activities of the International Waqf Fund. Reporting to the Director, post holder will be responsible for managing the function including internal and external management and performance reporting, managing rental income of Waqf assets, financial accounting and ensure consolidation of accounts and auditing across organisation’s operations.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Member of one of the professional accounting bodies (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA) is essential. A management degree is desirable.
  • Substantial experience of audit, regulatory frameworks, risk management, assurance, control of financial resources and financial management at a senior level
  • Ideally from the big 4 audit background.
  • Proven experience of managing staff at managerial level, strategic planning, budgeting and corporate decision making
  • Proven experience of engaging with and influencing decision-makers with sound political judgment and sensitivity.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic leadership skills particularly in a changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively using a variety of techniques.
  • Proven experience of collaborative working as part of a high performing team at a senior level.
  • Demonstrable analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills to support effective strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrates self-management and awareness with a high level of energy and flexibility.
