Lead the partnerships and fundraising function in a fast-growing social enterprise legal service. Play a key role in building innovative solutions to tackle the housing crisis and keep renters in safe homes.

The opportunity

You will join an ambitious and compassionate team, motivated by our mission to support Victorian renters to live in safe, secure, affordable homes that support their quality of life. You will be the sixth employee in our social enterprise legal service, and will play a key role in growing our unique service model.

As Head of Partnerships & Fundraising you will lead our fundraising strategy, helping us secure the funding needed to deliver vital legal support to more renters, design innovative new services, and advocate for systemic change. For the right candidate with less experience and the potential to grow into this role, you can be considered for a ‘Partnerships & Fundraising Lead’ role with the aim to grow into the Head of Partnerships & Fundraising.’

You will manage and develop relationships with trusts and foundations, corporate partners and major donors. You will also lead funding applications, digital fundraising campaigns, and marketing and communications.

You will enjoy a high degree of creativity and autonomy, and play an integral role in shaping our strategic direction and social impact.

At Anika Legal, we want to change how free legal services are provided through social enterprise and technology. We want to make housing justice a reality for renters Australia-wide. We want you to be a part of that.

About Anika Legal

Why we exist:

At Anika Legal, we believe everyone deserves a safe and secure home.

Each year, over 4 million Australians cannot access the legal assistance they need. For renters, this can mean illegal eviction, unfair rent increases, or living in a home so unsafe it’s dangerous.

There is also an unmet need for practical legal training. Each year, thousands of law students miss out on practical legal training opportunities, even though they are eager to develop their practical skills.

What we do:

We provide free, online legal assistance to renters to help them maintain safe housing.

We are a registered charity and social enterprise that envisions a world where everyone can access justice. We provide free legal support to the community through an online platform, which is supported by law students seeking practical legal experience, and funded through paid university programs.

  • Lead funding applications, which includes: identifying funding opportunities, working with Legal and Operations teams to identify strategically-aligned projects, grant writing and acquittals

  • Lead a team of volunteers to develop brand strategy and communications, including video, email newsletters, social media content and reports
  • Support the CEO with government engagement and media outreach
  • Ideate and implement new projects and process improvements within the Partnerships function

  • Government engagement

Anika Legal is committed to building a team that is as diverse as the community we serve
