Learning Facilitator (m/f/d)

Who we are

The International Alumni Center (iac Berlin) was founded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung to support the development of networks for social impact. As a Do & Think tank, we partner with foundations, academia, public institutions, and non-profit organizations; advise on alumni work; develop practical solutions for the design of impact-oriented networks; and initiate new forms of collaboration.

The context of the role

In recent years, the Networks in Philanthropy team within iac Berlin has expanded its focus on peer learning activities such as Connecting Networks and collective spaces for learning like the Wasan Network to a portfolio that aims to combine the potential of 

• taking on incubation roles in constellations with philanthropic organizations and their partners (see examples here, here and here);
• coaching partners in building impactful and resilient networks and ecosystems (also with co-developed tools such as the Ecosystem Cards;
• dedicated field building efforts within the sector of philanthropy in partnership with many other organizations (example here)

towards establishing a new paradigm of philanthropy that is rooted in trust and relationships, a focus on learning as well as systemic approaches to complex challenges in society. This ambition requires “inner work” in our own organization and those of our partners which is why we introduced the role of a Learning Facilitator two years ago.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a new colleague to join us as a Learning Facilitator (m/f/d) on a two-year basis, 32 hours/week – with the ambition to extend the contract afterwards.

Your role will include

• creating & facilitating learning formats that support organizations and individuals in navigating their roles and contributing to resilient communities, networks, and ecosystems.
• supporting existing and future incubation processes with a process design lens focusing on learning and constellation building.
• supporting our own capacity to learn as an organization.
• advising and accompanying organizations that initiate a networked approach on including learning into their development planning.
• contributing to the further development of iac Berlin’s learning tools and formats that support philanthropic organizations and their partners.
• sensing emerging dynamics in philanthropy and feeding them back into the organization and our partnerships.

This role is for you if

• you’re passionate about relational and collaborative approaches and a firm believer in their potential for transformational change.
• you have professional experience and expertise in creating and facilitating learning spaces that respond to today’s complex global challenges.
• you have experience in testing and developing new tools and formats that support learning in various contexts.
• you’re confident in navigating emergence in the design and implementation of collaborative processes.
• you’re familiar with the sectoral specifics of philanthropy and social change work.
• you provide strong communication and facilitation skills – both on- and offline.
• you are fully proficient in English (C2). Additional languages, in particular German, Arabic, Ukrainian and French, are a plus.

While remote working is commonplace for us, we also feel that in-person communication is vital to what we do. Therefore, we would prefer a candidate who is already based in Berlin or is willing to move there.

• A salary of 60.000 Euro (gross annual amount for 32h/week) in line with the German wage agreement for public service (TV-L 13).
