Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Performs duties in the administration and maintenance of accounting records. Responsible for reconciling Banner to PeopleSoft and required reporting to the Georgia Department of Audits and State Accounting Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for accounting and reporting revenues and receivables
2. Maintains registration, fee assessment and due diligence schedules
3. Monitors and prepares financial reports and analysis
4. Collaborates and coordinates with contractors
5. Responsible for monthly accounting and annual reporting
6. Reviews KSU Foundation or department related invoicing
7. Assists with month-end and year-end close and internal/year-end audit
8. Reviews processes to improve business efficiencies and recommends best practices
9. Supervises assigned accounting staff
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting, Business or related field
Required Experience
Four (4) years of related work experience in bookkeeping or accounting
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting, Business or related field
ABILITIES
Able to direct and supervise a staff
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of accounting processes and principles (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.)
SKILLS
Advanced data entry and 10-key skills
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, analytical, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, Banner and PeopleSoft)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
