- Mental Health Professional – i.e. Credentialed Mental Health Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapistand / or Child and Family Therapist, Play Therapist
Unique opportunity to deliver mental health and wellbeing clinics to rural and remote people under the iconic RFDS brand. Once in a lifetime role available, within an established, leading mental health, wellbeing and primary care service considered a lifeline to people living in Western NSW and beyond.
Our team are based in a variety of Wellbeing Place precincts, offering holistic person, family and community-based health and wellness initiatives to prevent ill-health, deliver clinical intervention and help people to maintain their wellbeing. We work across the lifespan and across the wellbeing continuum, giving great variety and opportunity to our employees.
Using a cool fleet of light aircraft and vehicles, we get to travel to some beautiful parts of the country and meet wonderful people living incredible lives in Australia’s outback. We work alongside doctors, nurses, pilots, dentists, engineers, community engagement workers and those with lived-experience of life on the land, geographical isolation, cultural diversity and extreme climatic conditions.
In addition to our clinical services for mental health, alcohol & other drugs and wellbeing, we offer Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Yoga, Meditation, Aquaponics, SMART Recovery, Circle of Security, Positive Lifestyle Program, Walk This Way, Native Wellbeing Gardens, Outback School Wellbeing, Human Book initiatives and lots more – we see no limit to being creative, innovative, adaptable and personable in how we support the mental health and wellbeing across our service footprint.
Our clinicians are typically trained in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Mental Health Occupational Therapy, Counselling, Child & Family Wellbeing (Play Therapy), Family Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Art Therapy, Community Services and Alcohol & other Drug management.
We are seeking expressions of interest from a multi-disciplinary mental health professional (SW, Psych, OT, RN) to work from our Broken Hill base and a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse to work in either Dubbo or Broken Hill.
Qualifications & Experience that are essential:
- AHPRA Registration (or equivalent)
- Provisional Psychologists are eligible to apply
OR
- Credentialed Mental Health Nurse (with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses ACMHN) (or ability to work towards immediately).
- APPTA or APTA – Registration as a Play Therapy or eligible to apply.
- PACFA – Clinical registration
Desirable:
- Post graduate qualifications and experience in relevant mental health / therapeutic treatment area;
- Experience delivering evidence-based clinical intervention;
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment: Pastoral, First Nation, geographical isolation;
- Experience working with families, couples and groups;
- Evidence of COVID19 Vaccination is essential;
