Hiring Unit:
Science Office for Undergraduate Student Advising (SOUSA) – Faculty of Science
Position Summary:
Answering email and phone inquiries from newly admitted B.Sc. and B.A. & Sc. students and their families.
Participate in various events for newly admitted students, including online and remote events.
Communicate your experiences as an undergraduate B.Sc or B.A.&Sc. student with incoming first year students.
Communicate McGill University academic policies and standards to new students.
Help incoming students navigate McGill websites and Faculty/Department orientation documents.
Other duties as required.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Ability to commit to 5-10 hours of work per week from March to July 26, 2024 (with possibility of additional hours).
Currently enrolled in the B.Sc. or B.A. & Sc.
Minimum CGPA of 2.7.
Ability to navigate McGill University website.
Knowledge of McGill University campus resources.
Be available to attend a half day training session in early/mid March.
Detail oriented
excellent communication skills
demonstrates tact, professionalism, and punctuality.
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams) and knowledge of Zoom.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
