Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients, guests, and equipment.

Job Duties:

Creates best care experience when greeting and assisting all patients and visitors entering multiple areas of the hospital and clinics.

Safely and securely transports and assists patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair/stretcher as requested to include transport of oxygen tanks and any special equipment.

Ensure wheelchairs are available at each entry in a clean and working condition and accounts for and secures each by end of shift.

Inspects all wheelchairs on a daily basis for any needed repairs.

Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to/from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as requested.

Assists patients in and out of vehicles and escorts or transports to and from the hospital or clinic lobby, in a cordial manner and obtains service for the transportation to other locations.

Supports limited clerical duties such as answering phones/voice mail, and maintaining various sign out and patient transport logs.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

One (1) year related experience is required.
