Offer Description

The project is in the framework of the European FET-Open project DeDNAed (GA 964248) entitled “Cluster decorated DNA origami for enhanced raman spectroscopic detection methods” focused on the development of an innovative DNA-origami based biosensing platform with high degree a of flexibility in the area of application, from medical technology to food monitoring.

The project at CIC biomaGUNE involves the design and synthesis of hybrid nanoprobes by the incoporation of metal nanoclusters and semiconducting nanoparticles within DNA-based recognition elements and antibodies. The candidate will work in interdisciplinary and international environment on the design, synthesis and characterization of sensing elements (antibodies, DNA probes, and DNA aptamers) and their modification with nanomaterials.

The project is to be carried out at the CIC biomaGUNE, a vibrant multidisciplinary and international research institute in San Sebastian, Spain. CIC biomaGUNE has established a state of the art research program at the interface between the chemical, biological and physical sciences. It offers excellent working conditions and is well equipped with instrumentation and facilities.
